The licensing requirements in the US for travel agents is not much of a licensing process. There is no testing, training or qualification process needed. All that is required is to complete a simple form, pay a small fee and just like that, you can start selling travel in the USA. There are certain states however that have their individual “Seller Of Travel Requirements.” These states are California, Florida, Iowa, Washington and Hawaii. Fraud Protection On Tripbeam

As we work as sub agents to an ARC Company GTT we have to work on certain protocols such as how to prevent chargebacks and frauds on our website. Travel sub agents are encouraged to have a risk management strategy in place to help manage the risk of fraud.
So when any customer is booking flight tickets via our search engine, his PNR is already created on our backend but as per the ARC (Airlines Reporting Corporation) recommendations we have to charge the card after going through fraud prevention protocols.

The customer is given an internal reference number after that we screen customer by asking:

1. Passport copy of customer and card holder (in case holder is not traveler)
2. We have a right signature document which the customer signs and agrees to the charges and terms and conditions.
3. Credit Card Scan Picture showing only Last 4 Digits.

Address verification check is done by our system (AVS checks the address in backend and marks a red flag if the address provided doesn’t match with the address mentioned in the card). In this case we call the customer as well as the Card Company simultaneously where if the card issuer approves it after that only we proceed forward with the transaction.

More or less all online travel agencies follow these protocols, we are going one more step as a security measure by taking passport scanned copies as well.

How Are Payments Processed?

All the payments done for booking flights by customers using our live search API are directly processed by our supplier GTT International. We do not save any kind of credit card details with us. Once the payment is done, after security and fraud checks, e-tickets with reservation number and PNR are sent to the customer via email.

How Are Tickets Sent To Customers?

After all the checks, we send customer e-tickets which they booked online.

How Customers Are Protected Against Fraud?

We take payments via credit cards only and as per the USA credit card norms, the credit card company protects their customers from any fraudulent activity. What we can do to protect the customers against fraud is that we take their credit card details while charging them against the services they have availed from us but while we do the documentation, we only ask for the photograph or scanned copy of the credit card with showing only last 4 digits and not full credit card number or CVV.

If customers do not find it secure and safe, they have full right to charge back the amount. And we as a sub agent are answerable to our ARC supplier regarding the same.
